A collection of architectural works : ranging from the Mississippi Delta to the middle of the ocean...
The Boy Scouts of America commissioned the design of this cabin with the intent of providing new accommodation for a campground located just outside of Jackson, Mississippi. The objective was to create a structure that could comfortably house eight scouts, complete with a skylight, window and changing area. The plan was to replicate this design to produce a campground comprising of 16 identical cabins. The design concept behind this project was to establish a pattern of bays where the bunk beds are situated. The entryway and window are located within the same bay, thus creating a sense of hierarchy within the cabin. Additionally, the roof of the cabin is slightly elevated in this area, accentuating the bay of entry and adding visual interest.
